Hill and pre-Hispanic settlement of the Kopakati community, about 5 km south of Copacabana at 3,922 m above sea level. A huge boulder holds a pictograph with crosses, possibly Tiwanaku (others attribute it to the Chiripa culture), and red grid squares resembling the wiphala or Andean flag, split in the centre by two parallel lines. Legend links the painting to the myth of Thunupa, an Aymara deity who carried a great cross that could not be destroyed. The signposted trail connects the site with the Piedras Talladas (carved stones) and the Siete Espejos (seven mirrors).
Respect the rock painting: do not touch it or climb on the rocks. The trail crosses ravines and native woodland; wear shoes with good grip.
